Meet David, our August member In the Spotlight!

Meet David Grandey!

David is the Project manager for HDI Construction, a decade old, Wilmington, North Carolina-based residential and commercial general contractor specializing in small or large scale renovations, damage restoration and building projects.  David has been in the construction industry, in construction and marketing roles, for over 25 years, and he is in his second year with HDI.  As Project Manager, David finds business and manages each project through to completion.

David got into the construction field after spending 10 years at a Public Relations firm where many of his clients were in construction.  He switched to working in-house at construction firms where he started in a marketing role and progressed into project management.  David finds it rewarding to improve properties to help make Wilmington even better.

CREW has been helpful to David in making connections and by offering additional resources to his clients.  He was a member of CREW in San Jose, California, and now is a member of our Cape Fear Chapter.  David has found CREW to be another way to actively give back to and serve the Wilmington community at large.  He also is a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club, Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Port City Young Professionals, and serves on the Work Committee for Wilmington Downtown, Inc., all of which provide opportunities to serve

As you can see, David is a community person – but he also has a family!  He and his wife, Becky, have been married for five years.  He also has four daughters: 20 year old Jaden, 18 year old Faith, and 3 year old twins, Charlotte and Kalyn.  They moved to Wilmington from California in May 2018, and love everything about the Port City.  It’s the perfect place for David to cycle, attend sporting events, and participate in water sports – when he has time!

We’re glad David has made Wilmington his community and home.
