CREW Leadership Summit In Baltimore

Cape Fear CREW members Julie Andrews, Colleen Rozier and Lannin Kerry attended the CREW Network Leadership Summit in Baltimore on June 18-19. It was a great time to join leaders from 72 chapters across the U.S. and Canada for networking, sharing best practices and professional development.

Things kicked off on Thursday with Delegate Group meetings and Dine Arounds where members could network with members from all over and check out local Baltimore hot spots for dinner.

Friday morning started early with a Netwalk/NetRun, where members were able to network and get the day started by getting a quick workout in. The council meeting kicked off at 8 am, hosted by 2015 CREW Network President Lori Kilberg. After taking care of a few business matters, we had MaryBeth Shapiro give us an industry research update. A panel discussion about Membership value and what has worked and not worked for other chapters included insight from Judy Nitsch, CREW Network Past President, Leslie Cohen, CREW Boston President-Elect, Susan Chavez, CREW Atlanta President, and Karen Pecoraro, CREW Baltimore President.

Small group discussions allowed for a relaxed setting, where members were able to talk about leading our chapters to engage members. Some innovative ideas were exchanged in an effort to improve all of our chapters. Spencer Levy, Americas Head of Research for CBRE gave an update at lunch on the economy and where he sees the future of Commercial Real Estate. The leadership summit rounded to a close with a development training session in the afternoon with Janet Sanders, Ph.D., Founder of The Clayton Consulting Group talked about “The First 30 Seconds: ‘Make or Break Time’ For Your Initial Meeting With An Important Person.”
